Dear Elaine and all staff at Vetcare Hindley,

Just a few words to say we are so pleased we choose Vetcare as our Vets after the service we continually receive.

I was very impressed with not only your professionalism but caring/sympathetic approach to me and my wife when we came to brought our Staffordshire Bull Terrier in (who is a  very important part of our family) to be spayed.

I can clearly see you are an animal lover and are at ease when carrying out your duties, you always find the time to come and say hello to her (even when you look busy)which shows you are not just doing a job and you genuinely care  and love animals which in your job is very important to owners.

I would also like to say thank you to the Vet Simone and nurse (Naomi) who looked after her so well while in for her operation.

Yours faithfully

Just a few lines to say how pleased we are with the practice in Hindley. From the receptionist through to the vets you get total commitment and care for your pets. We cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Vetcare.

Thank you.

Elaine and Peter Richardson (Westhoughton)

On behalf of Sooty, Alfie, Billy & Barney (the dogs) Toby & Bertie (the rabbits) and Wib (our very special cat, no longer with us)

Vetcare is a very dedicated, professional veterinary practice. We have been registered with them for many years and they always offer a very high standard of care to our precious pets. I would have no hesitation in recommending the whole team, and must mention Simon, Chad, Neil and more recently Simone who we have entrusted our pets to when they have needed their expertise and care.

Simon became involved with our cat Wibbly, who we called Wib, when she developed Leukaemia and FIV. She was a rescue cat with an old spinal injury but she lived happily with us and our dogs, as a house cat. Simon’s endless care and treatment of Wib and the special care and attention she had from the family, gave her 4 happy, very lively years with us after diagnosis. She was best friends with our Border Collie, Sooty. She was such a strong cat, a real fighter, but when I wasn’t sure whether it was time to let her go, Simon said “we won’t give up until she gives up”. He was right and we knew when the time came.

Chad has been involved in the treatment of Barney, one of our Jack Russell dogs, who he diagnosed with dermatitis. Barney was suffering quite badly with this awful condition but Chad treated Barney very quickly and he was soon completely clear and happily running around again. We now know exactly what to do if this problem reoccurs.

Neil was very kind and understanding when I had to bring Billy in, our other Jack Russell, for an operation to remove an ulcer from his eye. I was very anxious when leaving Billy in the surgery but Neil reassured me and put my mind at rest and took Billy straight in for surgery. Billy’s operation was a success, he was fine and he was soon fit and happy again.

More recently, Simone has taken a great interest in Toby, one of our 2 rescue rabbits. Toby became ill very quickly with a severe head tilt. He deteriorated to the point of not being able to move, he lay on his side with occasional thrashing movements, he wasn’t eating or drinking and his head was tilted completely to the floor. Simone treated him to try and discover what had caused his illness. I struggled to hand feed him but persevered and put his treatments on spinach leaves and herb salad, which I eventually managed to get down him. We kept him in a safe environment so he couldn’t hurt himself when he started thrashing around and I used to massage his neck and bathe his eye that was against the ground. After his initial visit to the vet, Toby was more distressed so we decided it was better not to take him again. Instead, Simone very kindly rang me regularly to check on Toby and offer advice and support. After 2 months, Toby started his miraculous recovery and is now completely better, he is a very happy bunny again and running amok with our other rabbit, Bertie. I’m so glad we gave him time to recover. He is strong and a fighter, just like Wib.

We are very thankful to the whole team at Vetcare and know they will always do everything possible to help our pets live long, happy and healthy lives.

Carter Family

I’ve been a customer of Vetcare, Hindley for about five years now. When I first became a client I had three dogs but over the years our four legged family grew and at present we have eight dogs, four cats and umpteen rabbits - we can visit the surgery on a regular basis!

The staff are so lovely and welcoming. Nothing’s too much trouble from first port of call Elaine, the receptionist and Beth and Naomi, the nurses. They treat you like a friend. I can’t help stopping to chat with them. The current Vets, Simone and Helen, make you and your pet feel at ease and are very thorough. From an annual booster and check up time to diagnosing, treatments and operations.

I’ve been seen very quickly many times. For example, one of my Springer Spaniels, Daisy with a puncture wound on her chest. I was able to take her to the surgery straight away.
Another was Norman the kitten near deaths door. He’d not responded to a two week course of antibiotics. I was convinced he’d have to be put to sleep because he was so small and frail.
But after a lengthy discussion of the options with Simone we decided to try blood tests. We didn’t know what to expect, thinking the worst, but thankfully they came back showing he had an infection. He was given a stronger course of antibiotics and made a full recovery. I’m so glad all the options were available and relieved the right decision was made.

I would recommend Vetcare, Hindley to anyone looking for first class service, dedication and care for their dog, cat or small animal.

Miss Smith and Annie (the Dog)

We have been involved with Vetcare Hindley for almost ten years since we moved to the area. As experienced dog owners we had been registered at other vets previously but the care and support we and our dogs have received at Vetcare has been exceptional. Our oldest dog Annie had been a stray and was extremely nervous and quite traumatised by any contact with vets. Her behaviour when at the vets was consequently very difficult. However the vets, nursing staff and receptionists at Vetcare were patient with her and took the time and trouble to get to know her and us. She now unfortunately has to have fairly regular treatment and monitoring but we have a great deal of confidence in the staff at Vetcare Hindley to look after her. If not for Vetcare diagnosing a problem we doubt we would still have Annie and are grateful to them for giving us more time together and a good quality of life for her. We have two other rescue dogs each with their own issues and both they and we have only ever received the utmost understanding and compassion. We and our dogs are always warmly welcomed and we have every and total confidence in Vetcare to care for our precious pets. We would recommend them to anyone and we would especially like to thank Naomi, Beth, Elaine, Helen and Simone and also those who have gone to pastures new.”

Karen, Christine and Katie (the Cat)

We have been very impressed by the level of care and attention provided by the veterinary surgeons and nurses at Vetcare Hindley. They have worked very hard to treat and manage our elderly cat's chronic health problems and have always shown great care and compassion. When the need has arisen they have seen us at very short notice and have always been prepared to arrange convenient appointments. They ensure they provide continuity of care and pride themselves on their professionalism. We would not hesitate to recommend them and we were so glad we chose them. We doubt if our pet could have received better care.

Tamsin Crothers

Vetcare offer a professional, friendly and comprehensive service.

From initial phone call to end of treatment, staff are supportive and approachable. They have been very patient and understanding with "owner error" such as the time my dog ate chocolate or when she stole some breakfast on the day of an operation which had to be postponed!

I appreciate being able to see consistent staff members and get to know and trust Elaine the receptionist, Naomi and Beth the nurses and Helen the vet (so far). Staff always have time for you and we never feel rushed, even within a busy surgery. It makes a big difference when staff come in front of the desk just to stroke the dog and say hello.

I love that we can usually see the same trusted team who have really got to know me and my animals. Our vet is always honest and open about possible diagnoses and treatment options and I feel part of the team in choosing which options to pursue. When more specialist assessment or treatment has been needed, my animals have been referred to the appropriate vet or surgery within the practice or to specialist centres around the UK.

My pets are getting on in years now, so we are fairly regular visitors to the Hindley practice at the moment. I am happy that we have access to up to date treatments delivered by a respectful and professional team who continue to help me make the best decisions for my animal family :)
